I’ve been a bit quit lately on the posting front. Mainly because my biggest weight challenge for the past 2 months has not been losing weight but rather trying to put it on. I’m sure the last thing you want to read when you’re struggling to lose weight is how much somebody else is struggling to put it on?
For weeks after I reached my weight loss goal weight I continued to lose a steady pound a week, no matter how much I ate or how much exercise I did or didn’t do. I was getting really frustrated. There were a couple of moments where I seriously thought about going to see the doctor just to make sure there wasn’t something wrong. Turns out I found a solution by myself. The problem was that I wanted to put on the right type of weight, muscle and not fat. So even though I was eating lots none of it would be what you call fatty foods. It’s amazing just how much non fatty food you can eat and still stay within a certain calorie limit. It’s all in the maths, I was eating lots, but not enough calories. I’ve seriously upped my protein intake.
For the past couple of weeks I’ve concentrated on upping my calorie intake (not necessarily eating more) and have managed to put on a few pound. I seem to be keeping my body fat percentage down around 11-12 percent as well so it’s all good weight! I’m still in the gym a lot but have changed from a mainly cardio workout to far more resistance work. My aim now it to get to around 12 stone and stay there.
