I’m so close to my first goal so I could really do without this but I’m injured! First of all on Tuesday night I felt a strange pain on my nose, as I went to rub it my nose seemed to just slip to one side with a good old crack. It was a bit worrying because I suddenly couldn’t breath through it either. I knew I’d felt this pain before (I’d broke my nose previously, drunken night out, somebody took a disliking to me and as his friend held me he punched over his shoulder and broke my nose) so I knew how to fix it. A quick trip to the bathroom and a couple of cracks, a bit of blood and everything seems back in place. It looks a little bent and my breathing isn’t 100% but it will do. I think that once the little bit of swelling goes down all should be good again.
Secondly whilst I was in the gym yesterday I managed to pull a muscle in my shoulder. It was a stupid thing to do really, with my breathing troubles I had to limit my cardio workout so instead I decided I was going to do a little bit of extra weight work. I was just getting in position for a sit down bench press with average weight (52.5 kilos) when before I’d even pushed I felt nothing more than a slight twinge in my shoulder. Figuring it was nothing I then tried the first rep but before I’d got to full extension my left shoulder gave way and I yelped, a lot. It was very tender yesterday but just seems stiff today.
I’ve got to go the gym today not only to make up for yesterday’s poor effort but also to give me something to do during my lunch break. I’m going to have a look online to see if there are any exercises that are best for an idiot with breathing difficulties and an injured shoulder. Typical, I’ve only got 2 pound to go as well.
