Well it does for me anyway.  I’ve started to notice a pattern during the working week, it seems that on the days that I’m not going to the gym during my lunch hour I’m eating a hell of a lot more.  I’m sure there are a couple of reasons for this, obviously the easiest way of filling a lunch hour is with eating lunch but it’s more than that, there isn’t the guilt association either.

Boredom eating is a well known fact, if you don’t have anything else to fill your time then many people turn to food to fill it.  If you work then your lunch hour is a prime target for this boredom.  Not having something to do to fill your lunch hour normally results in people eating a lot more than what they need.  I know I do it!

Secondly when I go to the gym I get a good sense of having achieved something, no matter how little I might have done.  The last thing I then want to do is go and stuff my face and wreck all that good work.  That feeling of guilt doesn’t seem to exist on the days when I’m not in the gym, it’s funny that?  So I’m more than happy to have that extra sandwich or that bigger chocolate bar etc etc

I’ve decided to come up with a radical solution for the Monday-Friday problem, I’m going to go to the gym every lunch hour.  It gives me a routine, will burn extra calories and because of the guilt factor I’ll be cutting down on my lunch!
