When I first committed to losing weight I had initially thought of following one of the many diet plans out there. For a fleeting second I even considered those magic diet pills and other wonder ways of losing weight. In the end though I came to the conclusion that nobody knows my body as well as me, the way it looks at the moment it’s a good job too! I know for me it’s going to be easier to lose weight by not putting the calories in me in the first place, this means altering my eating patterns. With this in mind I’ve come up with my own plan that involves changed eating patterns and exercise but is weighted (no pun intended) in favour of my diet. I’m going to call it my 3-2-1 plan and it’s how I’m going to achieve each of my goals.

I’m going to

Change 3 eating habits for the better
No more chocolate
No more alcohol
Reduce evening meal by 20% (I’m just going to cook less!)

Commit to doing 2 types of exercise
Get of the bus a few stops earlier so walking 20 minutes each morning
3 trips that last a minimum of 40 minutes to the gym each week

In order to achieve 1 measurable goal
Lose 1 stone in 2 months

It’s not part of my plan to avoid white bread but for over 6 months now I’ve been eating as little bread as possible. It upsets my stomach more than anything else so I’ll also be doing my best to avoid it for these next 2 months. As far as exercising goes I’m quite lucky in that I can afford a gym membership because I know that a regulated gym environment is the best way for me to exercise. Many people are happy just going for a walk or putting on an exercise video but that’s just not me.

So this is it, from tomorrow it’s all about putting in less than I burn and shifting some weight. If you’re doing something similar (I know lots of people are around this time of year) then good luck!
