Advisory announcements related to medical and health aspects like  heart attacks or seizures appear to be surfacing all over American radio of late.  TV and radio advertisements instruct us what to do if we feel dizziness, passing out, numbness, and so forth.  But, seldom will you hear an ad describing common anxiety symptoms, which is quite sad considering a lot of us have them and are very often confused by these symptoms.

Having anxiety symptoms is extremely common in our modern culture, when we are presented with stressful events on a ongoing basis.  Whether it is the concern that we may be off-course in an uncharted location or we’re going to be late for a meeting or if the bedside phone rings out of the blue, we all feel anxiety at some point in our life.  Many us on the other hand could feel anxiety symptoms for what seems to be no cause whatsoever, and can confuse them with the symptoms of having a cardiac arrest or some alternate medical condition.  People who suffer from panic attacks regularly confuse these symptoms.

Panic symptoms are clearly unique for everyone, and sometimes it’s apparent that you’re just experiencing anxiety – right before speaking on stage, when you’re about to be married, when you open your front door and see a weird looking stranger standing there; these circumstances can easily make anyone anxious and nervous!  But for most of us, anxiety symptoms can also include shortness of breath, heart spasms, vommiting, chest pains, constricted breathing, tingling or numbness in the fingers, face, or toes.  Stomach aches, and headaches are not unusual either.  You can appreciate how this could actually be confused with a heart attack or asthma or any type of other conditions.

If you get these anxiety symptoms on a sporadic basis, and particularly if they seem to happen for no reason, you should probably visit your doctor.  To begin with, you’ll want to eliminate the possibility of it being a heart attack or something that severe.  Secondly, he or she can prescribe medications or therapy that can help you cope with the anxiety symptoms while simultaneously working with you to understand why you’re tense and anxious to begin with.  You may have some chemical abnormalities in the brain or might need to incorporate some new positive techniques on how to think about a situation so that you’ll be able to avoid the flaring up of an anxiety attack before it gets too serious.

I managed to overcome my anxiety disorder after a lot of hassle and dragging my family through the agony with me.  The program I used was completely natural, drug-free and did not require lengthy therapy – I’m overjoyed to say that I’ve been anxiety free for a few years now, I only wish I had discovered it years sooner.

You can read more about the program that saved my sanity at my how to cure anxiety blog.
