			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Every year a few people are affected with the most frightening <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.drinking-diet.com/is-sleep-important/">sleep</a> disorders, the fatal insomnia.  Fatal insomnia can occur when a person has been deprived of sleep for so long that the body cannot take it anymore and the brain shuts down.  This can happen to any person that has had <a target="_blank" href="http://stayingsleeping.com/sleeplessness/">chronic insomnia or sleeplessness</a> for a long period of time without any relief or <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" target="_blank" href="http://greatinsomniatips.com/insomnia/common-over-the-counter-and-prescription-sleep-aids/">medical treatment</a>.A few cases have been there in which a person can even die from fatal insomnia.</p>
<p>How Does Fatal Insomnia Occur?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Blah blah blah, not a lot to report about yesterday at all so I shall keep this short and sweet. Hmm sweet.</p>
<p>Cereal for breakfast, cereal for lunch and a lovely chicken korma for dinner.  When I say lovely I should say it was lovely the second time around.  The first time the rice didn&#8217;t exactly turn out the way I&#8217;d planned!  (I blame the pan)</p>

<p>Soo not including the burnt rice which was quickly flushed down the toilet we have :-</p>
<p>1 x bowl of rice crispies = 210 cals<br />
1 x large bowl of corn flakes = 300 cals<br />
1 x chicken korma with long grain rice = 1000 cals</p>
<p>I had nothing to drink yesterday except water so again a very healthy 1510 calorie day.</p>
<p>In terms of my exercise I went back to my usual calorie burning <a href='http://www.drinking-diet.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-affiliate-pro.php?id=1' onmouseover="top.window.status='Wii Fit'; return true" onmouseout="top.window.status=''; return true" target="_blank">Wii Fit</a> regime.  I&#8217;d done enough playing this week.</p>
<p>1 x lap of the island run<br />
2 x 10 minute boxing<br />
1 x 6 minutes hula<br />
2 x set of 6 press-ups</p>
<p>Total calorie burn was 521 calories.  That give me a total calorie deficit for yesterday of (521+2100) &#8211; 1510 = 1111 calories.  I&#8217;m happy to report that I&#8217;ve also taken an inch of my waist since I started this.</p>
<p>(Today I blow my routine wide open, not only changing my <a href="http://www.drinking-diet.com/the-right-time-to-have-breakfast/">breakfast</a> cereal but also when I eat my main meal&#8230;.the excitement).</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I&#8217;m afraid that there isn&#8217;t much to report for yesterday.  Breakfast cereal, tick.  Lunch cereal, tick.  I even cooked a delicious healthy pasta dish for our dinner.  I was that busy that I didn&#8217;t have time to<span id="more-155"></span> boil a kettle so no cups of tea either.  In terms of calorie intake I was as good as good can be, my only hope is that I didn&#8217;t eat too little and put my body into standby.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s what it looked like:-</p>
<p>1 x bowl of rice crispies (210 calories)<br />
1 x very big bowl of corn flakes (300 calories)<br />
1 x pasta, sauce, bacon and cheese (900 calories)</p>
<p>At least 8 glasses of water, I think I lost count later on.  So yesterday I consumed 1510 calories.</p>
<p>My exercise was the same routine I did as the day before:-</p>
<p>1 x Around the island run<br />
2 x 10 Minute rhythm boxing<br />
1 x 6 minutes hula (3 minutes each way)<br />
2 x 6 press-ups</p>
<p>Calorie burn was a satisfying 538 calories.  Do the maths of (538 + 2100) &#8211; 1510 gives me a magnificent deficit of 1128 for yesterday.  That&#8217;s a lot, probably too much if I&#8217;m being honest so today I&#8217;ll be taking it easy, I might give the Wii a miss tonight.  I&#8217;ve got a lot of furniture to move anyway so can survive without the extra exercise.</p>
<p>As I mentioned before I did my first weight in yesterday.  I&#8217;ve decided to make 8pm my official weigh in time.  It&#8217;s very important to try and <a href="http://www.drinking-diet.com/the-correct-way-to-weigh-yourself/">weigh yourself</a> at the same time in the same clothes to get an accurate change (I wrote a whole post about <a href="http://www.drinking-diet.com/the-correct-way-to-weigh-yourself/">weighing yourself correctly</a>)  Anyhoo, the end result is that I&#8217;ve lost just over a pound.  Not bad for 3 days!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>So somebody has finally researched and come out and said what I&#8217;ve been saying all along. <strong>The myth that <a href="http://www.drinking-diet.com/eating-late-at-night-makes-you-fat-rubbish/">eating late at night</a> makes you fat is in fact just that, a myth!</strong>  When I first started all this one of the main things I wanted to get across in the &#8220;about me&#8221; page was how I was responsible for my weight gain and that how I firmly believed it&#8217;s as simple as <span id="more-129"></span>basic maths to lose weight (Go on have a look, it&#8217;s there somewhere!)  Burn more calories than you eat!  Doesn&#8217;t matter if you eat 20 micro meals a day or one large meal, it&#8217;s the total calories (and not how/when you have them) that counts.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s nice to see then that <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7789302.stm">this report</a> 100% backs that up.  It doesn&#8217;t matter if you have no breakfast, no lunch and then a huge meal at 3 in the morning.  As long as the calories in the huge meal aren&#8217;t more than the calorie deficit you&#8217;ve built up during the day there is no problem!  Consistently burn more calories than you eat and you will lose weight, that&#8217;s all there is to it.  It&#8217;s not your genes making you fat, it&#8217;s not your glands, it&#8217;s not eating too late &#8220;cos of work&#8221;,  it&#8217;s you putting more in than you take out fatty!</p>
<p>Of course there are things that affect how well are bodies burn calories BUT you can still eat less to compensate.  If our bodies aren&#8217;t burning the calories i.e. it doesn&#8217;t need them, then you need to adjust what you eat.  Otherwise you get fat.  </p>
<p>What I should say here is that although eating late at night won&#8217;t make you fat it may affect you in other ways.  For example if you enjoy physical exercise then running your body on &#8220;empty&#8221; all day will be a struggle.  Hunger/Tiredness and being grumpy are 3 reasons why it&#8217;s best to eat well balanced meals throughout the day.  There seems little point in giving your body an energy boost just as you are ready to go to sleep!  But that being said, eating late at night is no longer an excuse for getting fat.  People around the Mediterranean have been doing it for hundreds of years, just remember that it&#8217;s the total of what you eat that is the problem, not when you eat it!</p>
